Welcome to the home of the Romar Poodles in the UK/Ireland.
We breed and show our poodles as a hobby,and they are our pets first and foremost.
We breed when we are wanting a puppy for ourselves,
and do not breed litters purely for commercial reasons.
We do not have outdoor kennels, and our poodles live in our home together with us,
as a part of our family.
Our poodles have the full run of our home and the gardens, watch TV alongside us on the sofa, and sleep on our beds at night. They are not kept in cages, runs, basements,
outdoor kennels and are not confined to certain areas, in any way here at home.
We believe in breeding for quality rather than quantity.
Our retired poodles are neutered and live out their old age together with us.
We do not have poodles placed out into pet homes on breeding terms,
nor do we get rid of our oldies.We also have a few poodles in co-ownership with personal friends.
Our poodles are checked for GPRA as well as knee checked for Luxating Patella.
We have also begun to Optigen DNA test,and given time,all of our poodles will be done.
All of the results for our poodles can be found on this site, regardless of the result,
whether good or bad. At present, we have blacks, browns, silvers and one
white toy here at home.
We have in the past,loaned out our poodles for free/allowed people to use our males at stud(paid), to compliment/add something to their breeding programs.
We are very proud of the fact, that there are progeny out of our males all over the world,
that are good examples of the breed. We do not attempt to take the credit for breeding these progeny, but do take credit for the fact that our males (either bred/owned by us),
are the sires of these puppies/adults. It takes two to tango as they say, and it is
not only the bitch which has contributed to producing these progeny :)
We occassionally loan our stud dogs to personal friends abroad,so that the bloodlines can be added to their gene pools.These dogs are available at stud while abroad,should anyone wish to use them.
If interested in a puppy from us, please be prepared to be placed on a waiting list.
Previous experience has taught us to do thorough checks on the people wishing to have a puppy/adult from us,so be prepared to give us references,which we will contact.
Previous experience in the past has also taught us not to place our trust in people
when it comes to verbal agreements, or paying for the puppy/adult,after he/she
has gone to his/her new owner's home. We will only accept full payment from
the purchaser, before allowing the puppy/adult to go to their new homes.
